Experience Mexico City during one of its most meaningful times of year. Spend a long weekend exploring the city's food, neighborhoods, art and history while experiencing Día de Muertos traditions and celebrations throughout the city. Come solo or bring a friend — we'll have a home base in Mexico City, a few PTO Plan activities throughout the weekend and plenty of time to experience the city your own way.

  1. Day 1

    Welcome to Mexico City

    Thursday · Arrival Day

    Arrive in Mexico City, check into your hotel and get settled before meeting the PTO Plan group that evening.

    PTO Plan will recommend a selection of hotels in a central neighborhood so travelers can stay near one another while choosing the hotel and price point that works best for them.

    🍸 Welcome Dinner & Drinks

    Kick off the weekend over dinner with the group. We'll get to know each other, talk through the weekend and officially start our Mexico City trip.

  2. Day 2

    Mexico City, Your Way

    Friday

    Spend your first full day getting to know CDMX. Explore one of the city's museums, wander through its neighborhoods, eat your way through a food market or build your own perfect city day.

  3. Day 3

    Día de Muertos

    Saturday

    Today is about experiencing Mexico City during Día de Muertos.

    Across the city, you'll find ofrendas, marigolds, artwork and public celebrations honoring those who have passed. Mexico City's official Día de Muertos programming changes each year, so we'll build this day's recommendations around the 2027 calendar once it's announced. The city's celebrations typically include public ofrendas and events throughout late October and early November.

    Sunday in Mexico City

    Sunday

    Slow things down after Saturday's celebrations. Grab brunch, explore another neighborhood or spend the afternoon doing something you didn't get to earlier in the weekend.

    One More Morning

    Monday · Departure Day

    Grab breakfast or take one last walk around the neighborhood before heading home.

    Not ready to leave? PTO Plan will also share recommendations for travelers who want to extend their stay in Mexico City.

    Make the trip your own: group travel, without the group itinerary. We'll give you plenty of ways to experience Mexico City together—from our welcome dinner to Día de Muertos programming—but you won't be expected to spend the entire weekend with the group.

    Join an activity, find someone in the group chat who wants to explore the same neighborhood, make dinner plans with a few other travelers or head off on your own. You decide what your Mexico City weekend looks like.
